A woman has slammed her cousin for picking out a 'cringey' for her daughter that could haunt her for the rest of her life.
She explained how she visited her cousin to hear updates about her and speak about the upcoming arrival of her baby, wanting to know whether she needed any help with the preparations.
However, when she came to ask whether she's picked out any names, she couldn't hide her disgust after hearing the moniker she has chosen – Reason.

Taking to , she said: "I wasn’t shy with my disdain after she told me. And when I asked her why she chose that name. Her response was 'because there is a reason she’s being born.'"
Wanting her cousin to know how 'stupid' this sounds, she made it known that almost everyone is born after nine months for a 'reason', with that being how long a mother carries a child to full term.
She added: "Yeah the reason is that her nine months are up. I just can’t with some people. Why do that to your kid?"
Commenting on her post, one user said: "My ancestors named one of their kids Wrestling and another Fear back in the 1600s. I'm a little glad I'm descended from "Jonathan" instead lol Even centuries later name choices can be seen as cringe."
Another user added: "I can see so many horrible ways that name can be bullied. 'What’s your reason for being around?' or 'Do you have a good reason to be here?'."
A third user said: "I know a woman that named her son Reason. He’s in high school now. Poor kid."
One more user added: "Raisin. There's a reason why babies are born looking purply and wrinkled."
Another user said: "Reminds me of the princesses named Reason and Rhyme in the book 'The Phantom Tollbooth' - not the worst name but not something I'd name a kid."
While another user shared how they went to school with a boy called Reason, sharing how the poor student suffered with bullying due to his unusual name.
One more user joked: "If she every gets in an argument she can say, 'Listen to the voice of Reason'."
Another said: "Maybe I’m cynical, but I interpret that 'reason' as 'be glad I didn’t abort you'. Just seems like a bad choice for a name."
In agreement, a final user said: "That's where my mind went first too. I would have been more understanding if she said she chose that name because 'she is my reason to keep going' or something like that, but 'there's a reason she's being born'.
"That's just . As if she's congratulating herself for not getting an abortion and not having a miscarriage."
